The V International Economic Forum 'Ukraine – EU’ will be held in Lviv on 5-8 October 2005.

The International Economic Forum is primarily aimed at the presentation of Investment Projects and the potential of Ukrainian regions to interact with foreign partners, improvements in frontier and transborder cooperation promoted by the regional authorities following the enlargement of the EU, establishment of cooperation in the implementation of International projects for the development of transport corridors, crossing points and frontier infrastructure, discussion of conceptual framework and actual tools for cooperation within the Neighbourhood Programme launched by the EU, and pin-pointing new markets and the enhancement of Ukraine's export capabilities on entering the WTO.

Scheduled in the Programme of the Forum are the International Investment and Realty Fair ‘Ukraine-EU', Plenary Meetings, Round Tables, Scientific Conferences, Seminars, sittings of the International Trade Club, bilateral meetings and negotiations between Ukrainian and foreign businessmen.

The Forum Steering Committee invites you to take part in this high profile event. We feel sure that the well-tried and tested format of this event, together with the impressive list of participating countries and the subject matter for discussion to formulate up-to-date Neighbourhood Instruments, development of the frontier infrastructure and investment policy priorities will make this international event an important milestone in the development of international cooperation with Ukraine.

On behalf of the Steering Committee,we invite you to take part in The V Economic Forum 'Ukraine-EU' to be held in Lviv on 5-8 October 2005.

The Annual Economic Forum, held in Lviv since 1999, has become a traditional event boosting frontier cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe, facilitating the establishment of contacts between business participants, fostering integration processes in the region, and streamlining efficient methods of response to the changes taking place in Europe.

Invited to attend the 2005 Forum are Government representatives and business players from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, CIS and other countries interested in establishing reciprocal trading, investment and manufacturing relationships. Invitations have also been issued to representatives of the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the European Union Institutions.

Scheduled in the Programme are:

• Bilateral and multilateral meetings of State, Governmental and Regional Delegation Leaders;
• Plenary Meetings to discuss urgent issues of transborder cooperation;
• Round Tables:
  • 'Trade and investment cooperation: problems and prospects'
  • 'Development of transport corridors, crossing points and border-area infrastructure to meet the EU requirements and standards';
• International Investment and Realty Fair 'Ukraine-EU';
• International Seminar 'EU Neighbourhood instruments as applied to the Eastern borders : plans and realities'

To take part in the Forum, please remit the attendance fee of EURO 200 and complete the Participant’s Questionnaire (enclosed).
