Since 3 May 2005, Ukraine has become a proximate neighbour of the European Union. Ukrainian companies exporting to the neighbouring countries are faced now with the new regulations of the EU Customs Union and Acquis Communnautaire rules.
The Lviv Eurointegration Centre Project envisages the provision of Ukrainian companies with informational support relating to the operation of the EU Customs Union and a variety of Acquis Communnautaire rules and regulations specifying daily activities of companies interacting with the EU partners, or those operating within the Union. 80 Ukrainian companies, selected in the Kyiv, Odessa, Lviv and Zhytomyr regions, will receive the information required to carry out business activities with the EU and will serve as examples for training other local companies, and, above all, helping the partner organizations running the Project in various Ukrainian regions to gain awareness in identifying, understanding and implementing relevant regulations of the European Union. These regulations may cover technical requirements and standards, marking and packing rules, Regulations adopted by the EU for food-staffs manufacturers, etc.
Structured Reports summarizing relevant Acquis materials will be prepared for each Ukrainian company selected by partner organizations, as one of the major results to be demonstrated and achieved by the Project.
The Project is also aimed at establishing networking between the European Information Centre in Antwerp and Ukrainian partners, as well as gaining a better awareness of the demands and potential of the Ukrainian companies. These outputs will be preserved upon the Project completion and made available to all Flemish companies interested in studying the prospects of doing business in Ukraine.
